Pernah pakai GPS Offline atau Maps Offline?
Berikut sedikit penjelasannya
According to Engadget , the search giant has finally updated Google Maps with offline navigation and has started rolling it out. Last May, at its I/O event, the search engine promised users of Google Maps that it will allow them to navigate maps offline. The all new offline mode allows users to get directions while driving as well as search for locations. According to the same report, users of Android devices will receive the update today onwards, whereas the company is still working on its iOS app to add this feature, and it will be available soon.
While iOS users do use Google Maps, the availability of the feature on Android shows that Google prioritizes its own operating system while iOS usually follows later. The app is known to help a large number of users in their day-to-day life with better services rolling out regularly. The addition of the offline navigation and search will let users move away from third-party apps like HERE and Sygic, which is a brilliant move by Google.
Moreover, this will be quite helpful for users who are in an area with low coverage, while also helping users with low batteries to download the maps to their phones so that the GPS does not get activated repeatedly, utilizing more power.
However to have access to photos related to locations or the real-time traffic update will require users to activate their Internet connection. Previously, Google only allowed users to download specific areas but this update will allow users to access all the features.
